NUBIRA'S dip stick is missing (never came with one), Look for 1 1/4" round flat screw with a thumb twist tab, on the top of the transmission where A dip stick should be. There maybe a rubber tube coming out of the center of the flat screw (for over flow), that runs forward and down the side between the engine and radiator. Whatever you do, do not overfill Tranny. I believe 12.9 quarts is what it takes. You can not see the fluid through the hole. There is a Hex bolt (Plug) on the right side of the Transmission (standing in front). A bit of a narrow space. Remove it, and like in the old days, fill it through the 1 1/4" hole, until it runs out. Put the bolt back in (do not forget). There is no drain plug for the transmission.
TO SERVICE-----unbolt (loosen pan)----Fluid runs into catch pan. NOT ALL FLUID WILL DRAIN OUT! If you wish, remove pan, then add new filter, with "O" Rng and gasket. Filter is metal and cleanable, so you do not have to spend $. Refill as stated above. By the way, it is possible to get almost 24 quarts of fluid in the Tranny. A Transmission Tech did this to mine!
One last thing, a lot of you seem to be in England. This information is for U.S.A. cars and could be different. GOOD LUCK!
You have to take it to a mechanic i guess since it doesn't have a dipstick.
To check the transmission fluid on a Daewoo Lanos 2000 you have to get to the back side of the engine from underneath. The way we did it was to put the car on a lift.
If the transmission is electronically controlled - Dexron III, and if manually controlled - Dexron II. If there is no 'dip stick' for testing the fluid level, then the transmission is probably electronic control.
i have a daewoo and it doesnt have a dip stick u have to take it to the dealer in order for them to check it
Apparrently there is no transmission dip stick, so my best advice is have the filter and fluid changed(taking the filter access pan doesn't change all the fluid) every two or three yrs or have the fluid change done which puts all new fluid in but doesn't change the filter
To check the transmission fluid on a Nubira that doesn't have a dip stick 1. crawl under the car on the passenger side 2. find where the axle enters the transmission 3. remove the plug just to the front(opposite firewall) of the axle and on the transmission. The plug is the fill level, if no fluid drains from the plug, fill until it does, if any fluid spills out you are at the safe operating level. My recommendation is to check all of the fluids, after you know that are at normal operating levels sell the car.
Actually there are 2 different transmission fluids Dexron II and Dexron III. If your transmission is electronically controlled, use dexron III (your owners manual will tell you all this!), if it is manually controlled, use dexron II. How to determine if your transmission is electronically controlled! If you can't find a transmission dipstick any where in the Nubira engine chamber, then it'll be electronically controlled. From various sources I have found that, to check the fluid level in this case, you need to remove the speedo cable. nubira a/t model zf 4hp 16 use esso fluid.
check your hand book
If you didn't use dexron III transmission fluid, this may indicate the reason for the flashing light. Another reason is either too much or too little fluid. My best advice is to take the car to a transmission specialist. Really, changing the transmission fluid in a Daewoo is not something that should be attempted by anyone but a specialist.
unscrew the cap that has the breather hose coming out of it on the transmission and but your finger in it and if you can feel the fluid its full

First check the Transmission Mount where it is located in the driver side of the engine under the battery seat. If good go for Scan check for electric circuit fault.. Last change the Automatic Transmission Fluid and clean or replace the ATF filter ask for kit which may contain 3 letters ATF... And Go Smooth I hope
