The operating point of a device, also known as bias point, quiescent point, or Q-point, is the point on the output characteristics that shows the DC collector-emitter voltage (Vce) and the collector current (Ic) with no input signal applied. The term is normally used in connection with devices such as transistors.

Why you use capacitor before connecting transtitor?

Before connecting to the transistor we use a capacitor becausefor the transistor to amplify we should first apply DC biasing so that we can set an operating point to itso once the transistor is biased DC currents flow in the whole circuitryAll the AC signal source are shorts to the DC currents so we employ capacitor for two reasons1.As capacitor blocks DC and allows AC it is connected for not moving the DC operating point of the transistor and making it fixed since if any small DC part arises in the signal it leads to the change of operating point and our amplification procees gets affected2.To block the already present DC currents in the circuitry for not getting away and making it fixed

What should be the value of capacitor at transistor amplifier circuit input?

at full input, if the transistor is working, the value of capacitor will be 0.

When testing transistors how much minimum voltage difference should be seen across the base-emitter junction?

It depends on the transistor. Minimum base-emitter junction voltage can be as low as 0.6 volts for a silicon transistor, and as low as 0.2 volts for a germanium transistor.

How do you determine the maximum Wattage of a transistor from its canister markings. Specifically a B22M TCG102A. Any standards websites you could recommend. Thanks.?

It is very difficult to identify transistor watts from the package, due to the increase in dissipation that can be obtained from a heat sink -- not normally provided with the transistor. In your case however, the TCG102A should cross reference to the standard ECG line of electronic components. Find the ratings you seek by searching for the electrical characteristics of the ECG-102A transistor.

How should the two transistor junctions be biased for proper transistor amplifier operation?

Emitter-Base junction should be forward biased.Collector-Base junction should be reverse biased.

Please Suggest equivalent transistor for AC 128.but it should not germanium transistor?

There are none. Germanium transistors are never equivalent to silicon.

What is the biasing technique in transistor for it to be in active region?

For a transistor to be in active region : Base Emitter junction should be forward biased and Emitter collector junction should be reverse biased.

Should you be using stabilized Chlorine in your pool everyday or is the Granular better?

Use stabilized chlorine only so long as stabilizer level (cyanuric acid level) in pool is within the recommended range of 50-80ppm.

How do you know if a transistor is a PNP or an NPN?

To know if a transistor is PNP or an NPN,the following should be verified:For a PNP transistor, the base-collector junction is forward biased while the base-emitter junction is reversed biased. For an NPN transistor, the base-emitter junction is forward biased while the base -collector junction is reversed biased.

What can be viva question from the transistor characteristics in common emitter?

Transistor Characteristics1) What is transistor? what are the types of transistors?Ans: Transistor is a three terminal semiconductor device. There are two types of semiconductor i.e,. n-p-n and p-n-p.2) Define n-type and p-type semiconductors.Ans: If an intrinsic semiconductoris doped with pentavalent impurity. Then it is called n-type semiconductors. If it is doped with trivalent impurity then it is called p-type semiconductor.3) What is doping?Ans: Adding trivalent or pentavalent impurity to an intrinsic semiconductor is called doping.4. What are three basic transistor connection modes? Which mode is most preferred? Why?Ans: Common-Emitter, Common-Base & Common-Collector connections.CE mode is most preferred because CE modes gives Highest voltage gain.5. Define current amplification factor of a transistor?Ans: It is defined as ratio of change in collector current to change in base current.7. What is the biasing rule of transistor?Ans: Emitter base junction should be forward biased and collector base junction should be reversed biased.8. What is semiconductor?Ans: Semiconductor is a substance which has the resistivity in between that of conductor and insulator. semiconductor has negative temperature coefficient of resistance.9) Which are the commonly used semiconductors?Ans: Germanium & Silicon

What should be the value of Vce if the base terminal of a transistor is open?

It would be zero because there is a leakage.

Ford ranger compressor turns on even to use the defroster setting?

Your system runs the A/C in the defrost mode to remove moisture from the air being directed on the windshield. It is operating as advertised. Your owners manual should define the function.
