A switch examines the frame for the MAC address information and adds it to its internal switching table as each frame passes through the switch.
Each Ethernet frame sent from one computer to another includes the source and the destionation MAC addresses. It is from these addresses that the switch learns what device is connected to the port. At first, the switch won't know the destination address; in that case, it will broadcast the frame through all of its ports. But soon it learns this information. It is also possible, in some switches, to add the MAC address through configuration commands.

a person who learns about the world by observing it.
A switch builds a table of MAC addresses as it passes packets from port to port; ARP requests help with this by requiring clients that are connected to the switch reveal what their IP and MAC addresses are.
You can configure addresses manually or configure the switch to learn the addresses dynamically. For more detailed information visit the Related Link.

port security
There isn't one. The switch only knows about MAC addresses, and the default gateway isn't one of those addresses.
Destination address is used to identify the recipient. Thus, a switch can send the frame out the correct port, and the receiving computer can confirm that the frame is for that computer and not for any other computer.Source address allows the receiving computer to know where to send the reply. It also helps a switch learn MAC addresses (learn which MAC addresses are connected to which switch ports).Destination address is used to identify the recipient.
