That might be an acceptable term ("moved"). The HCM trail was so heavily bombed by US aircraft that the trail was constantly being cratered. As a consequence, alternate routes (trails) were constructed. Everytime a route (trail, road, etc.) was cratered another one was built to take its place. Over the years the HCM trail became a network of roads/trails/etc. Traffic was so heavy along the network AC-130 Spectre gunships used to go "truck hunting" along the trail(s). But the HCM trail itself was never completely put out of operation.
