You may be thinking of his degree in political science, during which he studied sociology; but that is not the same as socialism. There is no evidence that Mr. Obama ever taught courses related to political theories of any kind-- neither socialism, nor capitalism, nor any other kind of theory. Rather, he taught various kinds of legal courses at the University of Chicago Law School. And if you are referring to the internet myth that President Obama is a socialist, there is no evidence of that either.
Barack Obama. The Best Person alive.
Do the opposite of what President Obama does, and you will be a good leader.
In the Seventies, the Obama family became friendly with Frank Marshall Davis (1905-1987), a black writer and fellow Hawaiian resident. Davis wrote for the Honolulu Record (a Communist newspaper) and was a known member of the Soviet-controlled Communist Party USA (CPUSA). He soon became the young Barack Obama's mentor and advisor.
There are various life skills that Barack Obama's mother taught him. This includes interpersonal relationships and managing the challenges that life throws at him.
that being black makes you famous and ultimately very cool
Barack Obama did not teach at Harvard; he was a teaching assistant, which means he was helping a professor while studying for his degree (the professor he helped was a scholar named Professor Laurence Tribe). But after graduating from Harvard Law School, Mr. Obama did become a professor at the University of Chicago's law school, where he taught a number of courses but primarily focused on Constitutional Law.
According to the president's own writings, his two main inspirations were his mother and his grandmother, both of whom helped to raise him and teach him ethics and compassion.
No he did not. While Mr. Obama finally visited Kenya for the first time in the late 1980s, trying to understand the father he had never really known, there is no evidence he taught any courses there. He mainly visited his relatives from his father's side of the family.

This makes me sound as if I'm dead, and I can assure you I'm still alive. It also makes me sound as if I have something to do with Barack Obama (I never met the man, although I am a casual acquaintance of Michelle Obama's cousin) or with the Democratic Party (I'm generally center-left, but I've voted for some moderate Republicans in the past). Truth be told, I just answer a lot of Barack Obama questions because I'm a media historian, a former reporter and radio announcer, and politics fascinates me (I teach Political Communication). But other than that, I'm not affiliated with Mr. Obama or with the Democrats.
