Caleb and Joshua
Caleb the son of Jephunneh -- Numbers 14 :38
According to the Bible, Joshua was the first to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses died.
The standard Christian Bible does not mention when Caleb died. Joshua 14:10 identifies that, at 85 years of age, Caleb was just as strong as he was at the age of 40. So, we know that he lived until he was at least 85. How long he lived after that is anybody's guess.
As the Israelites left Egypt on their exodus, Joshua was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to reconnoiter the land of Canaan. Joshua and Caleb were the only two who had confidence that God would give Israel the land of Canaan despite its formidable inhabitants. Because of their faith God allowed Joshua and Caleb to enter the promised land, but he vowed that the others of Joshua's generation would die in the wilderness. God instructed Moses to designate Joshua as his successor. Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land. The book of Joshua recounts his victories at Jericho, Ai, and other places.
The Bible implies, but does not state, that Joshua son of Nun, and also Caleb were born in Egypt. All the other men of their generation died in the desert, and they alone entered the promised land.
They are Joshua and Caleb.
