France thought that they should bomb Germany back to the stone age after all of the damage and deaths they had made. Georges Clemenceau, France, was horrified after what Germany had done and thought they should suffer as much as France did in the war.
America agreed that Germany should be punished, but not too harshly as they would seek revenge when they 'grow up' and rebuild.
Britain agreed with both France and Germany but thought that they should squeeze the pips out of Germany. Lloyd-George realized that Germany would seek revenge if they were punished too hard but they shouldn't be punished too lightly in case they don't learn their lesson.
So yes Britain and France did think that Germany should be punished.
I hope this helped as it certainly helped me do my history homework.
Britain, France and Belgium invaded
The US armed forces assign letters to certain plans, so that they can be discussed without interceptors knowing what it is. D day was the day when Britain and the US invaded France and took it back from the Germans. Some of the French fought for the Germans (and were punished by the free French later, depending on how they helped the Germans.). So, the answer to your question would be: The axis powers involved in D-Day were the Germans and the French that sided with the Germans.
Dunkirk.
France had been greatly hit by world war one and so would want to be harsh on the Germans to get revenge
France has a border which is very close to Britain. Only separated by 32 miles of water. The Germans also feared Britain because by the time Germany did invade France, Britain was the only country still fighting and Britain's spitfire was a breakthrough in RAF technology. America was also in trade with Britain and France was surrounded by the allies of Britain. Britain could've attacked head on while America came from the North. Eastern allies stormed from the south and east. This is what happened and how Hitler lost the war.
sitzkrieg

The Treaty of Versailles was pretty harsh on the Germans, but not nearly as harsh as France and Great Britain would have liked. This harsh treaty led to Germany starting world war 2.

Britain was not attacked. They were the ones doing the attacking as they landed on the beaches in Normandy, France. Their opposition was the Germans.

Because of a series of colonial conflicts began between France and Britain, which ultimately resulted in the destruction of the French Colonies.
Dunkirk.
The Fall of France in 1940 meant that Germany had access to the Atlantic Ocean, circumventing the British blockade of Germany.
Russia jumped in on Serbia's side, dragging in her ally, France, in the process. This triggered the German attack on France, which the Germans made by way of Belgium. Going through Belgium brought Great Britain in. So Russia, France, Belgium and Great Britain (and all her Commonwealth states and colonies).
