Mussolini was dictator of Italy. Italy never occupied France. You might be thinking of Germany and Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler occupied the north of France and set up a puppet government in the south run by Marshall Petain, Vichy France.

No, France was in charge of it's own government, and was not facist during World War II.

What led to Bonito Mussolini's gaining power in Italy?

1. After WWI Italy was left to gain less despite being victories. And during the great depression was left Italy to fight over on how and what the government should do, a perfect advantage for Mussolini to rise to power. Mussolini's goal was to turn Italy into a fascist state and his tactic was to control the people at the same time use their nationalism to make them proud and willing to participate in his "revolution" and after he took power, he had made a new fascist Italy.

Why did they overthrew Benito Mussolini?

In 1943 Mussolini was still in control of the Repubblica di Salo' but the war was still going on and it was going to be lost. The few that strongly believed in the fascist ideology were eventually overwhelmed by the feeling of the people, sick and tired of a long war. So in the end the only reason why the people turn on Mussolini is the same reason why mice leave the ship before it sinking. Its easier to turn large amount of people on the concepts of fear of death. If you weren't fascist you would be killed, once Mussolini and Hitler lost, if you were a fascist you would have been killed. But again, Mussolini predicted it in his will talks about how the people are going to turn on him and how politics its hard because one is trying to grasp people emotion which are changeable, and so "Mutevolissimo è lo spirito degli italiani" ( changeable are the emotions of the Italian people). So honestly the only reason why the people turn on him, is because it was the best course of action for their survival at the time. Today in modern Italy one of the most sold application for iPhone is iMussolini ( all the speeches he gave). Well hope this helps.CheersFB

Did Italy turn against germany?

Yes, that did happen. In 1943, just as the Allies were about to invade Italy, the Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini was removed from power and arrested by the King of Italy. The new prime minister, Pietro Badoglio, began negotiations with the Allies to surrender and switch sides. In early September 1943, Italy officially "surrendered" to the Allies and declared war on Germany. However, Italy was split in half- the southern half ruled by the Italian government, and the northern half ruled by Mussolini (who had been rescued from imprisonment) and his German friends- so the war did not end for Italy until May 1945.

Did Mussolini have anything to do with world war 2?

Mussolini had a great deal to do with World War 2, especially before the war began and in the early part of the war. * When Hitler moved to annex Austria, Mussolini moved the Italian Army to the Austrian border and backed him down while Great Britain and France did nothing. At that time the Italian Army could have easily handled the German Army. Later, Mussolini and Hitler became friends, and Hitler annexed Austria with no resistance. * At the Munich Conference in 1938, Hitler and Mussolini used the good cop & bad cop routine to seal the fate of Czechoslovakia, with Hitler as the bad cop making demands, and Mussolini as the good cop holding him back. France and Great Britain backed down and agreed to let Hitler take the German-speaking part of Czechoslovakia. Hitler then took all of it. * In 1940 Mussolini became jealous of Hitler's easy victories in Europe, and he threw Italy into war on the Axis side. Italy was not prepared for war; more of a liability to the Axis than an asset, and Italy seldom had the upper hand against Great Britain. Yet, Italy (with some help from the Germans) kept Great Britain occupied throughout 1941 and most of 1942. In 1943 Mussolini was overthrown and Italy surrendered to the Allies. Hitler sent paratroopers to rescue Mussolini but in 1945 he was captured again and executed shortly before Hitler committed suicide.

What were the positive aspects of fascism?

There were some positive aspects, with the trains running on time being the most famous example. [I'll be referring to Fascist Italy in my answer as it is the only true fascist state to have existed] Italy, after WWI, was, like many other European countries, demoralized, bankrupt, socially volatile and, in all honesty, on the very brink of collapse. The people had only the government to turn to to help them rebuild their shattered lives and the politicians in Rome were to busy worried about personal interests or keeping a fragile coalition together, governments came and went, it seemed, daily. Mussolini and the National Fascist Party came along and offered the population precious stability and a sense of normalcy. In more tangible terms, the Fascists created millions of jobs and in the process improved infrastructure (building roads, draining swamps etc), they instilled patriotism where it was once thought lost. Fascists were also intellectuals (many of them at least) so the arts and culture (albeit fascist inspired) flourished. These are just somethings off the top of my head probably many more.
