No. The Alamo was a battle in the Texas Revolution, where Anglo settlers of Texas (most from America) were rebelling against Mexico. Texas at that time, 1836, still belonged to Mexico. The Texans eventually won that war and became independent of Mexico. Texas was an independent nation for about ten years. Then the Texans decided to join the US. A dispute over the southern boundary of Texas brought on the US-Mexican War of 1846-48. Lee did fight in this later war.
