∙ 14y agoNo, the Confederates were commanded by General Albert Sydney Johnston, who was killed on April 6th, 1862. General Braxton Bragg then took command. As for General Lee, he was the military adviser to Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy. Lee had yet to take command of the Army of Northern Virginia, which he did in May 1862.
