No, they did not. The United States just came into Korea in order to keep Northern part of Korean away from South Korea. Because the Soviet Union(communists) was taking care of northern Korea. Korean War began because of the protection from the United States and the Soveit Union. Colonized over years from Japan, Korea was weak to set their own government, so then United States occupied Korea. no In June 1950, North Korean troops crossed the 38th parallel, the North Koreans had nearly taken the whole of the peninsula when UN troops landed in the unconquered land in the south-east and at Inchon near Seoul.
