Not sure but I have a 181 model that was produced in 1979 and it is of the stainless flavor....
I can't find a serialization list for this model, but it's not old since the model was introduced in 1978 and is still in production.
You can find information on when these guns were manufactured on OldGuns.net.
Only the factory knows and they are not telling.
No the model 70 Winchester made before 1964 was never made in stainless steel.
Yes, on certain models. Around serial number 1600000 and beyond.
Your Marlin model 1894S was made in the year 1988 with the serial number that you have supplied.
2nd sep 1949
50-500 usd
This Winchester model 1894 rifle could be very valuable,as Winchester only offered there barrels in Stainless Steel for a very short time in the late 1920,s.I would have your Winchester looked at by a Winchester collector assoc.member to get a more qualified appraised value. It will surely be worth your time.
yes
It sounds like to me that you have the Winchester model 1200 police stainless model. The serial number just means the number assigned to your shotgun during the time of production, nothing more. The Winchester model 1200 series shotguns were produced from 1964-1981.The serial number was mandated by the goverment with the passage of the gun control act of 1968.
Winchester did not produce a Model 81 bolt action. Exactly how is your rifle marked? sales@countrygunsmith.net
Yes they did. I have one that has a hex barrel and is a lever action.
