The hunter-gatherers from more than 10,000 years ago didn't have domesticated animals or farming. Between 7000-10000 years ago (5000-8000BC) was the Neolithic revolution, which was when people started to keep animals such as pigs for food. So the most recent stone age people did start rearing animals and began cultivating. After this era came the bronze age, where people began to extract copper/bronze to use as tools.
