No. Nero hated chrisians and wanted to have an excuse to hurt them. I don't know if it is exactly like this, but I think he ordered his soldiers to do it and then blame the christians. They were persecuted by many in Rome back then.

∙ 12y agoI believe That it was not Christianity but a form of it. in this time period catholic was the only church which meant everyone was influenced by the same group. when Martin Luther (not king Jr.) created the 95 thesis and made his own form of Christianity ( the Protestant) this broke the grip the catholic Church had over the people. also the catholic church had been doing things they deemed holy when Martin Luther saw this he exposed them causing revolts among the lower class/peasants. hope this helped :)

∙ 11y agoNo, the pagan roots remained. Christianity was a different system of beliefs from the pagan. However many of the Christian customs and feast days were and are derived from the "pagan" feasts or established to counteract them.
