Egypt was eventually taken over by Greece- so if anything they might switch from one type of afterlife to another. Current Egyptians are Muslim- so one could say they changed religions, but never really ceased believing in the 'afterlife'. To my knowledge there is no clear indication that belief in the afterlife ceased before the end of the New Kingdom- the last stage of Egyptian history.
