The Islamic religion spread fast to the Middle East and became a religious following that was as strong as Christianity. Unfortunately the theology between the two differed sharply on pivotal topics, and clashes were bound to occur.
The Christian kingdom viewed Islam as a threat to their future and started a war against the Muslim empires. From the Perspectives of the Christian Crusaders, Muslims were seems as savages and infidels and Evil. The Muslims in turn viewed Some Christians as Idolaters (Idolizing Jesus PBUH). Muslims and Jews were caught off-guard during the first Crusade that killed many muslims and Jews.
