Yes and no. The GTO is a Tempest. There are basically 3 cars in that line. The Tempest, the LeMans, and the GTO. Once you option it as a GTO it's no longer a Tempest. It's a GTO.
No, the GTO option was only available on the LeMans model.
Stolen from the Italian version. Gran Turismo Omologato (G.T.O) means Grand Tourer Homologation, basically a car that has this approved can be entered into racing events such as le mans or stock car racing. A simple car to look at is the ferrari 250 GTO. Also note Le Mans was a Tempest as well. The Tempest could be ordered with the Le Mans package or the GTO package. This was Pontiac's use of racing terms to associate their cars with racing.
1966 GTO
The Pontiac Motor Division Of General Motors began the GTO in 1964. It was a submodel of the Tempest. It had a 389 cubic inch V-8 engine, and came in a 2 door body style, and convertible.
If you are talking about a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, then a 1969 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans or even "regular" GTO can be modifed to look like a GTO Judge and for alot less money. Many people have done this and the cars are known as tribute or clone cars.
Most definitely. In 68 they may have just been lap belts.....but there will be some kind of seat belt installed in the car from the factory.
I know that this rear is a gm standard 10 bolt, and Pontiac used it in the 64-66 gto, tempest, and le mans.
There are many websites and dealerships that offer Pontiac GTO 2006 online. Some of these websites that someone can purchase the car from are eBay and CarsForSale.
It looks like the same body but the VIN #'s won't be right
You must go under the hood as well as inside to get the heater core removed and replaced. I just did mime.
Pontiac, GTO.
The 1967 Pontiac GTO was equipped with an HO V-8 engine and had 360 horse power. It also had a custom built Ram airway which worked as a means of supercharging the vehicle without having to use traditional super charger methods.
