So you're just looking to reconnect the starter relay? First make sure the negative (-) terminal is disconnected. Next, there should be 4 connection terminals on the relay, 2 big and 2 small. Connect the cable coming from the (+) battery terminal to one of the big terminals on the relay. Connect all the smaller wires that have a washer like connecter to the same terminal and screw on the nut to hold them in place. Next connect the big cable running to the starter motor to the other large terminal and screw on the nut to hold it in place. There should be one more small wire with a female type connection - slide this wire on to the small terminal on the relay labeled "S" and reconnect the negative cable to the battery...you're done.

Where is the starter relay on a 1989 Honda civic dx hatchback?

The starter relay should be under the hood or under the dash depending on if you have had a swap or not. Another cause that will relate to a stater relay would be the 12 volt main relay. If your car cranks but has no spark then theres a really good chance your main relay is bad or is going out.

Why does the starter stay engaged on ford 460 motorhome?

If your starter stays engaged it is either your stater relay (solenoid) or your ignition switch. It is usually the relay, either mounted on your inner fender(earlier system)or on the starter itself.Follow the positive cable (red) from your battery,if it goes directly to your starter it is the later system. To test disconnect the ignition wire on the relay, the small gauge wire.If there is 2 small wires on the fender mounted relay you can disconnect them both if your not sure witch is ignition wire.Leave the 2 large wires connected. If it still is turning over it is your relay,if it stopped it is your ignition. If you have the stater mounted relay remove the small wire from the "S" terminal, and repeat as above.

Where is the starter relay on a 1984 Corvette?

I would think that 1984 starter construction, should be very similar to my 1981 starter. The stater relay is set of contacts contain within the Solenoid that is mounted on the side of the stater. Typical solenoid wiring configuration is one large gauge wire (usally coming directly from the battery) and two small gauge wires. The one small wire on the "S" terminal applies power and activates the solenoid when you turn the key, closing the starter relay contacts within the solenoid and applies battery power to stater motor, causing the engine to turn over (crank). Assuming the ignition system is functional and the engine is mechanically operational the engine should run.
