Fungus are multicellular, eukaryotic, heterotrophic organisms consisting of a cell wall made of chitin and root-like structures called hyphae.

∙ 7y agoIt is often both. A lichen is a symbiotic combination of two organisms. One is an algae or a cyanobacteria (performs photosynthesis). The other is a fungus (provides nutrients and a protective substrate).
