No cable, speedometer is electric
I believe there is no cable to the center and speedometer
To change the speedometer cable on a 1990 Toyota truck, disconnect the cable, feeding it through the grommet, then disconnect it from the transmission. The process can then be reversed with the new cable.
Remove speedometer head Disconnect old cable Follow original routing for new cable Disconnect fitting at side of transmission and remove cable - replace with new
Disconnect speedometer cable from back of speedometer gauge by twisting the threaded collar to unscrew. Then just slide the old cable out of cable housing and insert new one. If cable is broken you may need to disconnect cable from transmission tail shaft to remove part of the cable. Cable must be inserted into the gauge end of the cable housing.
You need to disconnect the cable from the transaxel. Then you pull out your dash cluster. Remove clip from speedometer cable then just pull it out. Reverse for installation.
You unplug it from the transmission and from the back of the speedometer, if it's a model old enough that the speedometer cable doesn't to the ECM.
Here is how the Chilton Manual says to do it......1.Raise and safely support the vehicle.2.Disengage the cable from the transmission.->Disconnect the cable by pulling it out of the speed sensor. Do not attempt to remove the spring retainer clip with the sensor. 3.Disconnect the cable from its retaining clips4.Push the cable through the grommet in the floor and pull it into the passenger compartment.5.Disconnect the cable from the speedometer, cluster removal may be necessary.6.Install the speedometer in position and route it through the floor.7.Connect it at the speedometer and at the transmission.Hope this helps.
You just have to sqeeze the junction of the cable ( white connetion) and it will release
Disconnect the cable from negative terminal of the batteryIf working on a 2.0L detach the shift cable from the transaxleDisconnect the speedometer cable from the transaxleUnscrew the nut and disconnect the battery cable from the starter motor then disconnect the wiring from the solenoidRemove the start motor mounting bolts and remove the starter
1. Disconnect the cable from the back of the Speedometer. 2. Disconnect it from the Transmission it should be on the driver's side about half way back. 3. Now follow the cable up till you locate where it comes thru the firewall and pull it out. 4. Push the replacement cable thru where the old one came out. 5. Remove the old cable the connect both ends of the new cable and you are done.
The speedometer is electronic...there is no speedometer cable.
