It usually means that you have a stored trouble code in the HVAC system. You have to retrieve the code and then diagnose it accordingly.
No the climate control is tied into the electronic control system of the car which is controled by the computer. The climate control can also be used to view or display fault codes from the computer...............
sounds like you have it set for Celsius not Fahrenheit.
if all buttons and lights went out on your climate control then either its not receiving proper power or ground, or the control panel assembly is faulty.
If you have the automatic climate control system, I do not think there are actual "bulbs" in the display as it is all electronic. In my 1988 LeSabre I had to replace the entire control unit which I picked up at a salvage yard. Just a thought.
replace climate control switch, the hole unit on rockauto.com
See the dealer/
Should find ECM just under center dash below radio and climate control panel
Electronic Throttle Control or Electronic Timing Control
To display climate codes, you have to push OFF & WARM buttons at the same time for about 2-3 seconds. This will display any codes or if you see 00 then it does not detect anything wrong, which doesn't always mean that it is free of trouble. Hope this helps good luck!
what is the electronic power control?
The display does not use a bulb. There is a connection that needs to be soldered on the back of the panel. Search on Ebay and you will find someone selling details on how to do this. That is how I repaired the one on my car!
