No, Orthodox Christians only pray FOR the dead, ie. they offer prayers for the memory of departed souls, as in Proverbs 10:7 which says "the memory of the righteous is blessed..." However, Deuteronomy 18:11 refers to people who conjure up spells, such as mediums, witches and clairvoyants. Doing this is not permitted in the Orthodox Church.
