this fight would be close, even doh the ridgeback head is not as big as the dog de bordeaux, i think it would still win, these ridgeback dogs are fighters and will not back down, and just like the akita, they will take the fight to another breed of dog, the american akita and the ridgeback is capable of beating all breeds of pittbull and bulldogs,

My 10 yo female ridgeback x kelpie is 35kg. She has no health problems (not even arthritis). She has a few lumps / fatty deposits, but no cancer. She is a long dog like a ridgeback but her height is slightly taller than a kelpie. She has the ridgeback look and laziness inside with a gentle , but the energy of a kelpie when outside (especially in the water). She doesn't bark, bite, jump or dig and is very well behaved but can be unpredictable at times with other dogs (an age / tolerance thing I think as this is fairly new behaviour). She doesn't like yapping dogs that jump at her.

Yes. They are VERY energetic but they will return love if you give it. I had a rhodesian ridgeback myself. i took care of him myself and im 13. they eat alot and require alot of exersice. he got along well with my pitbull. over all they are great dogs. minimal shedding, but they eat alot. Mine always ate the majority of my pitbulls food after his own.

No, that is not a recognised breed, but there is a Cambodian Razorback Dog, but it is very rare. Basically, the Dog has a backwards growing ridge of hair along its back like the Rhodesian Ridgeback. This is not seen in Pit Bulls.

My rhodesian ridgeback puppy is great with the family and always wants to be close to us. He is initially shy around strangers, but warms up to them quickly. I have been around some very wary and aloof ridgebacks but their owners all say that at home they are just so sweet. So, in general they are a dog that loves those he knows are his pack, and is not really friendly like a labrador retreiver around strangers, but will not hurt anyone unless they or their family are threatened.

There are many high quality dog foods on the market. I usually feed my dogs Science diet, or IAMS, but I have tried a number of others. High quality foods are nice because they increase the amount of nutrients the dog absorbs from the food and reduce the amount of waste that the dog produces. The latter is nice especially if you have kids that play in your yard, and makes less work for you. Most importantly, the dog has to like it. Some dogs are picky. Buy small bags of comparable foods and let the dog decide. Buy the one he eats first. Higher quality dog foods are more expensive but he's your companion, the health of your dog is worth it.
