The Five Pillars of Belief of Islam are:

Belief ...

  1. in one God, Allāh ~Surah 23:116, 117
  2. in angels ~Surah 2:177
  3. that there are many prophets but one message. e.g.آدم, Adem; ابراهيم, Ibrahim; موسى, Musa; عيسى‎, `Īsā; ; Muhammad ~Surah 4:136; 33:40. (i.e. Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed)
  4. in judgment day ~Surah 15:35, 36
  5. in God's omniscience, his pre-knowledge and his pre-determination of events ~ Surah 9:51

Muslims also conduct themselves in accord with the Five Pillars of Obligation:

  1. To repeat the creed "There is no God but Allah; Mohammad is the messenger of Allah" ~Surah 33:40
  2. To pray towards Mecca five times a day ~Surah 2:144
  3. To give to charity, ... a percentage of one's income and of the value of some property ~Surah 24:56
  4. To fast, particularly during the whole of the month of Ramadan ~Surah 2:183-185
  5. For males to make a pilgrimage at least once in their lives to Mecca ~Surah 3:97

Muslims believe that it is vital that they all hold to these five beliefs and five practices, in order to live a life of submission to the will of God.

No, there are different ways to be a Muslim. The most common two are as Sunni and Shi'a. The two groups are both ethnically and religiously separate and this causes a great deal of conflict between them. The two groups originally split based on political differences, they each wanted their own chosen person to lead the entire Muslim faith after Mohammed died.

In the name of Allah Almighty.

There is only one way of being a Muslim. That is the way the holy and beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) preached Islam and his Companions (RA) practised. There is no other way as described in the holy Quran, preached by the beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him), and practised and demonstrated by the holy Companions (RA). As said by our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) (Summary) the Jews have 72 sects and the Muslims will have 73. Only ONE out of them will be saved. That will be the group of people who will lead their lives according to the way the Companions (RA) followed. All the other sects sprang up after the departure of the beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) from this world. Before his departure the DEEN, Religion-Islam had been completed. Any body who adds or deletes any rule of Islam commits BIDA'T. Those who label themselves being Muslims but practise contrary to the teachings of the Quran and the SUNNA of beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) and his Companions (RA) should revise their faith and correct it.
