Australian Aboriginals had no rights to speak of in Australia until the 1960's and even after that they had to fight for any justice that should have come their way. even today it is an uphill struggle for many of these poor people.
Aboriginal people have equal rights in all respects in Australia. Indeed, positions are made available in university courses and government positions solely for Aboriginal people. Sadly, despite large amounts of public funds being spent on health, housing, and education, there are substantial cultural issues that cause friction. Australia faces similar issues with its Aboriginal population as the US does with Native Americans and Canada has with its Inuits.
