Some do, and some don't; it depends on the individual cat. A domestic cat can catch and eat a rabbit if it was so inclined.
I have several alley cats and a backyard rabbit. One of the kittens became friends with the rabbit.
Hunting is a predatorial instinct that all cats share, but that doesn't mean that all cats will suddenly pounce on a mouse if they see one. Cats often attack birds and rodents for fun, and they use the animal as a toy rather than eating it. Some cats don't even have access to mice, but if a cat sees a mouse near-by it is likely that the cat will have the urge to pounce on it.
Mice are probably scared to death of cats, because cats hunt mice. Also, birds are most usually afraid of cats because cats also hunt birds.
yes they like to hunt birds, mice, rats, anything that is smaller than them and moves
Cats can not produce their own food. They can hunt for their food in the form of mice, frogs, insects ect.
Animals hunt by smelling - Some animals have a very evolved sense of smell, so they can smell their tracks, scent, trail, etc. Animals hunt by feeling and hearing - Sightless animals or poor visioned animals that do not use their eyes often, such as bats, use feelers (usually antennae on insects) or echolocation (where they can tell distance from hearing the echo of a sound wave they send out) to hunt. Some animals can hunt with special tools they are equipped with, animals like sharks can detect electrical signals underwater to find prey. Animals like snakes can find prey with the help of heat sensors.
They each have whiskers a tail and they are cats just wild cats are bigger. they both hunt other animals, domestic cats hunt mice and birds. All cats are carnivores and need meat as their diet. It is like the comparison between dogs and wolves.
Most all cats will hunt and consume mice .
All so long as they have the energy and the smarts to do so.
Yes they also hunt mole, lizards.
cats
Wild cats eat mice and other rodents. However, domesticated cats will hunt mice to practice their hunting, to play, and to give it to you (there are various reasons for cats to give their killed or half-killed prey to you.)
Mice are probably scared to death of cats, because cats hunt mice. Also, birds are most usually afraid of cats because cats also hunt birds.
Cats in ancient Egypt were used to hunt mice and other rodents invading houses.
Some male cats do hunt mice, but it depends on the type of cat. Most cats try to hunt them but some just play with the mice to have a little time off their hands. All domoestic cats hunt mice, it's an instinct as most domestic cats are individual hunters, unlike Lions. I see why you would of thought that, with the behaviour of Lions, But most cats hunt alone. Of course, I don't think fully grown tigers hunt mice. Maybe babies of wild cats, but besides that, I think only domestic cats.yes, and trust me i have seen my cat eat plenty of mice.
Because Cats have Instincts. In the wild cats (such as tigers) have to hunt for their food. Most Cats (that share our homes with us) catch Bugs and mice. Its their Insticts to hunt. even though they are domesticated, they will always have some wildness in them :]]
Dogs don't hate cats. If you're saying why do they chase them, then it's because it's a natural instinct. But if the cat doesn't run then it probably won't get chased. Cats don't hate mice. They are just genetically programmed to hunt them, just like lions hunt zebras.
yes they like to hunt birds, mice, rats, anything that is smaller than them and moves
There would be fewer cats than mice because a cat would eat more than one mouse. Therefore, it would make sense if there were more mice than cats or there wouldn't be enough mice to feed all the cats.
