The females aren't usually aggressive, but if a male doesn't like the female for any reason, or just isn't ready to breed, he may kill the female. They should only be together under supervision. The male tends to the young, so if the breeding attempt is successful, the female should be removed immediately to prevent the male from killing her so she won't eat the babies.

What happens when you put two betta fish together?

1 male and 1 female will breed, 2 males will fight until 1 is too injured to continue and eventually 1 dies, 2 females, they will still fight. If you have at least 6 female bettas, they won't fight. If you have less than 3, they will fight.

Can a crowntail female betta mate with a halfmoon male betta fish?

Yes, crowntail females can mate with halfmoon males, and vice versa. Any type of betta can mate with any another type. Veiltails with halfmoons, deltas with crowntails, etc. But most people prefer to breed bettas with their own type because they plan to sell them, and most people don't want "mutts". They can also keep the coloration, finnage, and physical characeteristics of the betta type. It is much easier to sell these purebred bettas. If you planning on breeding the crowntail and halfmoon and selling, I highly suggest that you reconsider this. Get a two quality bettas (same type) from a good breeder. Enjoy your fish!

Does mental disability affect females more than males?

The actual statistics are impossible to identify, but different illnesses appear to be more prominent in males than in females and vise-versa. For example: Schizophrenia appears to be more dominant in males than in females during early life, but then switches during puberty and switches again during adulthood and so on; OCD appears to be equal in which gender is prominent; and Autism-Spectrum Disorders appear to be more prominent in males. It is best to identify a specific illness and find the gender prevalence rates within that illness as each illness is different and has different traits which may only appear in males and some which may only appear in females, with some being prominent in males and some in females.

How is a female crocodile is different from a male?

It is actually vice versa... The male's attract the females. The males usually try to make themselves look dominant by rising their heads up high. This will usually proceed into a fight with rivals. Another way of attract female's is to make low frequency noises. You can tell if a crocodile is doing this when you see the droplets of water bouncing off their backs.

How much do bettas cost?

How big will a mix lab puppy get?

Are there more male or female horses on howrse?

More males because you cannot castrate females. Breeders castrate their males (I'd they have high GP and skills) and then sell them so that the buyer doesn't reproduce and sell its offspring. People use Zeus Lighting Bolts to change a female to a male/ vise versa but most of the horses on Howrse are male.

Can male guinea pigs live together?

Yes. Males can live with males, and vice versa. Also, males and females if together will breed. Females reach a point eventually, though, where they can not give birth, so they may be able to live together as friends.

Can you keep female betta with male betta?

that would not be the best thing but all Bettas are different. a male betta is used to being alone. if you would like to do that, keep the tank in shallow water, about the depth of half your tank (about your finger height) and make sure they have a lot of room ideally a male betta should never be kept with any female bettas unless they are breeding as they 'supposedly' will attack and kill each other. However i have a male betta who has lived with 3 female bettas for 8 months and ive had no problems. he never flares at them, has never attacked them and vice versa. he will even sleep next to the smallest female.

Can you have other fish with a betta in the same tank?

Yes, it is possible to have other fish with a betta in the same tank, but it is important to choose tank mates carefully. Some fish may be aggressive towards the betta or vice versa. It is recommended to research and select peaceful fish that are compatible with bettas, such as tetras or corydoras. Additionally, providing plenty of hiding spots and space in the tank can help reduce aggression.
