All cats are different with different habits but when cats are happy there tail is a little bent at the top. If it is straight, the cat may not be happy.

If a cat sprays somewhere not in the litter box he is marking there territory. Purring is a sign of affection too. If he scratches you it is also a sign of affection.

Let your cats run around and get some exercise. If your cat is sleeping it is wise not to wake it up, cats need at least 16 hours of sleep.

Do not overfeed your cat, he will get fat and lazy it could hurt them inside, Cats are always wanting more food if you didn't give them enough then make sure you give them the appropriate amount.
