no they dont sleep in the dark there more active when its dark durning the day they spend most of there time hiding depends the temp of the vivarium during day it should be warm n during the night the heat should go of snakes in the wild at night its cool n durning the day warm its naturall for them but if the snake eat leave the heat mat on at nights if the snakes stomech is full so it diggests its food properly
