fuel pressure regulator, or clog due to poor fuel, and check injectors
Fuel pumps and filters are located in the gas tank. This has been industry practice for decades since fuel injection became widespread.
Fuel pump is in the fuel tank, the filter, if fitted, is in-line, usually a grey cylinder in the engine compartment.
Yup. I do have. I have gear pumps, water pumps, diaphragm pumps, vacuum pumps and blowers, submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps and filters.
The fuel module consists of the fuel pump, strainer and the sending unit. The fuel pump pumps the fuel, the strainer filters the fuel, and the sending unit sends a signal to the dash gauge as to how much fuel is in the tank.
There is not a screen on the tank itself, but there is one on the fuel pump.See "Related Questions" below for more about pumps & filters
No, there are two separate and different parts. The fuel pump is what pumps the fuel from the fuel tank to the engine. The fuel filter is what filters that fuel to collect any particles that might be suspended. The fuel filter may be inside the fuel tank or may be mounted inline to the engine.
Internal fuel pumps are cooled by fuel. If you run your tank low a lot then the pump will get hotter than normal and lessen it's life. Heard also that these pumps don't like plugged filters either but this is up for debate I would watch the fuel level and fill at no less than quarter tank
There are two fuel filters.
They are permanent filters that are only replaced when the fuel pump is replaced.
If there is a 'clog' in the fuel line, it's likely to be the fuel filter doing its job.Note: the fuel pump is mounted inside the gas tank.See "Related Questions" below for much more about Windstar fuel filters and pumps
On the in-tank fuel pump, or pumps if you have two tanks.
