It certainly is! My grandparents met when they were almost done with highschool, and now it is close to 60 years, 8 children, and almost 30 grandchildren, and about 15 great grandchildren later, also my parents met when my mother was 14 and my father was 17, and have been together ever since, and are coming up on their 23rd anniversary. Anything is possible.

Yes!

I met my husband senior year. We got married 4 months after graduation. And this year we will be celebrating our 19th anniversary.

Yes, it is very possible for high school relationships to end up in marriage and last. It's not very common though because people change a lot in the teen and early adult years.

Yes, it is certainly possible. I have two friends (one male, one female) that married their high school sweethearts and they have been married for 38 and 40 years.

As the other poster said it is not all that common. I think it's healthier to leave high school, either go out and see the worl or go to college, make new friends and find the career you would like. It's better to get to know yourself and become independent before settling into marriage.

It is true. Some relationships evolve into marrige. But not all do. My husband ans I met after my graduation. He lived in Baltiore and I lived in Troy,Ohio. Now we're in Colorado. My husband and I are now happily married for 18 years.

There is certainly the hope that they will. But the overwhelming majority of high school relationships eventually fail. Only a tiny percentage make it to marriage, and the majority of those end in divorce.

But that's the point of high school relationships. You get to learn to date, learn what you like/dislike about different people, get to get your heart broken, and are still young enough that you can learn from it and move on.

Usually not, but if it's really meant to be then it can happen! It just takes a lot of commitment.

Actually, after being married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years, we have noticed that most of our friends that have not been divorced were high school sweethearts. They all dated through high school, graduated, and waited a few years before we were married. It was different for friends of ours that were married young because of pregnancy or other more forced reasons. I'm sure some of those work, but from what I have seen, the success level is not as high.

Yes! Anything is possible. My boyfriend and I have dated since the seventh grade, which is considered middle school at my school and we are still together and I'm a senior in high school!

Does it ever work out when you go out with your best friend?

That depends on what is meant by "work out". If you mean "end in marriage", then yes, in some cases relationships between best friends have ended in marriage. If you mean "everyone stays friends after the break up", then yes as well. In some cases sexual and romantic relationships don't have a severe negative impact on the friendship. That being said, romantic and sexual relationships between friends often reveal issues between the two participants that can lead to negativity in the friendship.

Do college high school relationships work?

Yes, without a doubt! Some of my best memories from high school came from the relationships you form. It always helps with learning how to judge the opposite sex and finding the right person when it comes to marriage. BUT make sure you keep your priorities straight, a relationship should never come before your education. You can date once you have your degree and have graduated, people rarely ever go back for an education if they messed up their grades because of relationships. Just don't get too crazy over a relationship in high school either, it is very seldom that high school sweethearts marry later in life. So don't throw your life away at an early age over a relationship!
