  • In this modern age bullying just does not mean two young teen males fist fighting and perhaps splitting one's lip or giving their opponent a black eye. Bullying is much more serious and with the internet involved; ipods; blackberries, etc., it is much easier for these spineless bullies to choose a victim and make their lives miserable. It has become apparent from studying bullying that the females in school can often be more threatening; physically abusive; vicious than the male bullies. However in most cases it does not end there and the teen still has to go to school and face one or more bullies on a daily basis. It is exhausting for the victim because they are so filled with fear; feel so alone and lose their self confidence and thus generally have low grades in school. Victims of bullying get little sleep; they cannot often eat well or eat too much and even may resort to drugs or alcohol to dim their fear. Most victims of bullying may put up with it, but for some young victims they will either tell their parents and are placed in another school or home schooled. Victims of bullying lose their self confidence and begin to believe the verbal abuse their bully or group of bullies are calling them such as: 'you're fat'; 'you're ugly'; 'you smell'; 'why don't you go away and die somewhere.' These are stinging words and leaves the victim forgetting that only a small percentage in that school are bullies when there are many more students in that school that are not bullies. There are some poor victims of bullying that cannot reach out for help and the suicide rate of bullied teens has risen to a high percent and thus, this is why the police; the educational system and the parents are getting more involved with the victims of bullying and Cyberbullying is being monitored and holds a stiff fine and possibly jail time for those that are caught. NOTE: When other students ignore a victim being bullies then they are enablers and no better than the bully. On the up side more and more good students are joining up in groups at schools and getting programs started to stop the bullying. This method is working quite effectively. Teens are smart and the good ones should realize that bullying towards anyone who has done no harm and wants to fit in at school can and should start a program to protect one of their own. This can be done by seeing the Principal; counselor.

Their could be many reasons why. Bullying includes offensive name calling, harassing other peers, and putting others down in any mean or rude way. Many kids have experienced this because some kids do not like other kids in a way. Others may have noticed about victims wanting to fight back. In most cases, kids might of gotten angered or annoyed by other kids.

The Bully could bring the person down so low, and make them feel useless to the point were they just give up on everything. For example if the bully is saying "Your stupid" The person could believe that and let what the bully says change them.
