Yes. ANSWER: Not all do. There are plants under the ocean that live in complete darkness and mushroons survive best in total darkness. Most plants need the photosynthesis to survive though.

It would be more accurate to say that mushrooms (and other fungi) do not need light (because they do not photosynthesise), though some species at least prefer slightly moist, cool hence usually shaded conditions. After all, the common or edible mushroom is a grass-land plant.
