The American Opossum (Didelphis virginiana) will DEFINITELY kill chickens. I have caught them in the act many times. Although they usually prefer carrion, slugs, fruit and vegetables, they are quite capable of killing chickens, due, in part to the fact that roosting chickens are quite docile.
If the word possum is being used here to refer to the arboreal nocturnal marsupials of Australia and New Zealand, then the answer is "No."
Neither Possums nor Opossums are found in the wild in Europe. Opossums are limited to the Western Hemisphere.

∙ 13y agoNo. True possums, marsupials of Australia, do not eat chicken bones. However, the North American Virginia opossum, the only marsupial in North America (and quite different to a true possum), is omnivorous and will eat chicken bones, eggs and even chicks.
