If in the US, this is on a state to state basis. In Tennessee, where I am, both are required, along with the Meningitus shot. The further you go into school, the more shots you will have to take. For college, all of these are required. Additional info I am in CA and ALL 6th grade students going into 7th are required to have the three hepatitis series to enroll in school. We don't require a meningitus shot ( but it isn't a bad idea). In college here I never had to show a shot record to enroll. As a teacher I only have to have a TB test every 2 years, but I got the hepatitis since the students were getting them and thought I should get them too.
No it is not. There are at least 3 shots; possibly 4.
The causative agent for Hepatitis B is Hepatitis B virus.
To fully vaccinate you. I know you probably hate shots, and so do I, but if you didn't get the vaccine or all three shots of it, you would be at risk for the disease.
There are several tests for hepatitis B which mean different things if positive (reactive). If it is the surface antigen (sAg') then it means that you have either been exposed to the infection or had the shots. If the former whether you still have the infection depends on the results of other tests.
There is no harm or benefit from giving hepatitis B vaccine to someone with hepatitis B.
Artificial active immunity. Artificial because it is due to vaccination. Active because the body is stimulated by the vaccine to produce antibodies against Hepatitis B virus antigen.
Hepatitis is inflammation in the liver caused by the virus hepatitis B.
If you are just going into the city you probably dont need any but if not you should get shots for Malaria, Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid Fever but that is only if you are going to be in the jungle
