why waste the time, money, and effort on cloning when there is plenty of raw material available and going to waste from legally aborted fetuses?

seems more logical to change the legislature than clone. also wouldn't cloning be a handicap as your genetic variances are less?

Stem cell research requires viable stem cells to proceed. Stem cells can be obtained from embryos without damaging the embryos, umbilical cord blood and even the bone marrow of living individuals. Therefore, the argument that stem cell research results in the death of embryos is false.

Why is it bad to throw away unused embryos?

This is controversial. Some people think these embryos should be used for stem cell research which could help scientists find cures for many different kinds of disorders. Other people think these embyos count as full people and shouldn't be used in experiments or disposed of.

What is one concern that people have with stem cell research?

The first concern is the destruction of human embryos to extract stem cells. Pro-life activists argue that embryos are a form of life and should be allowed to live. Another argument is that stem cell research can devalue human life as it can lead to consent of reproductive cloning.
