a normal 2X4 weights between 8 to 10 pounds
They hold very well, better than into wood.
Depends on the rating and installation information from the maker. Some are "zero clearance" appliances- they can be attached directly to wood studs.
When you put a new piece of wood against an old piece because you want the strength but cannot take the old piece out. Typically done with joists, rafters, or studs.
The price difference of metal framing versus wood framing in Washington state and Texas will vary depending on the exact material that is being used. Typically though metal framing is cheaper then wood framing however the labor costs are higher.
Basically the studs are the verticle bits of wood that take the load from the roof to the ground while a noggin is a horisontal bit of wood between the studs that prevent the studs from buckling and also add strength and support to the plasterboard
Get a good stud finder and make a drawing of where the studs are. Get a good 'pin nailer' and compressor , then attach the sheets to the studs with 1. 9 " nails .
Behind the plaster you will find wood in vertical sections, normally about 12 inch's apart. These are called "studs". Stud finders are less than 10 bucks at big box stores and will help you find some solid wood behind the wall to screw into for the mounting of your TV.
Studs has several meanings. If you are referring to earrings, a stud is an earring on a post with a back piece that holds it in place. If you are referring to construction, a stud is an upright piece of wood that makes the interior or exterior walls of a room or building. If you are referring to a man, a stud is a handsome,well-groomed man.

Presuming the existing wal is brick, stone etc then you wood baton the existing wall securing with suitable fixings (rawlplugs and screws) then attach the stud to the wood batons with suitable fixings.
Wood costs less.
Lumber yards and home improvement stores in the U.S. generally stock stud length 2x6's (92-5/8").
The number of 2x4's depends on a great number of variables. First of all, is it a one story house? Are the exterior walls made of studs? Even if the walls of the house are in fact stud walls - it is possible (perhaps probable) that they are 2x6 studs, not 2x4 studs. For the sake of example though, let's assume every wall in the house (inside and out) are composed of wood 2x4 studs. Generally they are spaced 16" apart. Thus, you would need to count the linear feet of wall in the house - then multiply that figure by 12 (to convert to inches), then divide that number by 16. There is more than just walls however. At the base of every wood stud wall is a continuous "bottom plate" of wood stud. If the studs are 10' long, then you would need to divide the linear feet of walls by 10. If the studs are 8' long, you would need to divide the linear feet of walls by 8, and so on. Similarly, at the top of every stud wall is a "top plate" which actually consist of TWO studs. So you would do the same as the bottom plate - but this time double your answer. Everywhere there is a door or window, these are framed out with 2x4s. So at every door and window you would need to see how wide they are, and add that length in stud. For windows you would need to do this at the top and the bottom. Studs are also used miscellaneously all throughout a building for framing. For example, if a handle at a handicap toilet is framed into a wall - this handle cannot be simply screwed into drywall - it needs a firm structure to hold it in place. Usually this done by adding 2x4 stud in the wall cavity where the handle will go. Similarly, where wall cabinets are hung, there is typically hidden studs in the wall to help hold these cabinets firmly in place. Wood studs are also used to frame up the roof structure, but these would likely never be 2x4 (something much larger such as 2x12). Hope this helps.
19 studs one every 18 inches
You'd likely want to have a stud finder if you can't find them manually. You'll want to put two wood anchors securely into two studs and secure the mirror by these.
If you are looking for a stud, you could tap (hollow sound means no stud), check for nails in windows or trim (usually nailed to a stud), or use a stud finder.
