Sometimes - but you need to remember that your personality and temperament as a teenager is not necessarily who you will turn out to be as an adult. People change, especially as they learn more about themselves and get some distance from their upbringing. That means that teenagers who are compatible may not end up being good matches once they are older. But, if the teenagers allow each other to grow and mature, and allow for the changes that will inevitably happen, give each other emotional space and compassion, there is no reason why their relationship shouldn't last.

Possibly. But, as they grow, they often find someone else. An example: in highschool you have a girlfriend/boyfriend and when you go to college, you could find someone else that you like better. So, I would say, "Yes and no, you never know?"

Answer

Anytime you have a relationship, it is a matter of luck as to whether your partner will be happy and able to change as you do. Certainly there is a lot of change between 18 and 25 just due to living life, school and/or work. Enjoy what you have, but don't hurry through it to the permanency of children and marriage before your mid-twenties. So, I guess the answer is "maybe."
