AN INDUSTRIAL chemical being used in ever larger quantities to make flat-screen TVs may be making global warming worse.

Also television uses electricity that is mostly generated by burning fossil fuel (coal, oil and natural gas). If this is the case, then one person watching television increases the demand for electricity a tiny bit. Now imagine if a million people watch TV!

Answer: Yes, think of all the chemical and stuff that go into making them! aAbunch of our old tech goes to Asia to be parted out and melted down and if you u have ever seen plastic and silicone burn, it smells bad and looks bad.

Answer: All electronics contain a wide range of heavy metals and other materials that are toxic if not disposed of in a proper fashion. If not processed to recover usable components the units are often shredded and separated in bulk recovery units which segregate metals, plastics and glass for further processing
