Yrs, they eat meat. At one time, locker plants were common, and their disappearance makes it difficult for the Amish to butcher the livestock they raise. They make do, however.
Amish women will grind beef into hamburger, cook the Hamburgers, and can them in wide-mouth mason jars. Yep, your county extension agent will tell you that you shouldn't do that, and the Bell Blue Book says the same thing, but if botulism develops, the toxin is destroyed by thorough heating. In many communities, there are small canneries that will put your beef or whatever into tin cans.
