Well, at some point they switched from bolt action M1903s and M1917s to M1 Garands, then switched over to M14s, and then to M16s, so yes, they change their weapons as needed. Currently, the M16A4 is the standard for the Marines, and the M4 is also used, though not in as great numbers as it's used by the Army.
