The police can seize a car if they believe it is being driven by someone who does not hold a valid driving licence.
To reclaim a seized car, the owner can attend the relevant police force pound and present a valid driving licence, proof of insurance and proof of ownership. Once those documents have been presented, the owner must pay the recovery fee (which tends to go up every day the car is impounded). If the owner does not claim the car within a set time frame (which changes depending on the police force), the car will be destroyed.
If they catch you driving on that expired license, yes.
If your license has expired you have the same options to renew as those who hold a valid driver's license: * Online * In person * By mail The DMV won't charge you additional late fees, but you will be cited by the police if you're caught driving with an expired license. To determine whether your license is expired, check your driving record or the date on your driver's license.
Yes, the police technically could wait until you are driving in order to give you a ticket when your license is expired. Hopefully the police would warn you that your license was expired rather than immediately ticketing you.
No. And why would they confiscate your license anyways?
The police don't revoke your driving privileges - the courts do.
Drivers License Check
The police would only ask for your driving license if they have stopped your vehicle for a possible motoring offense.
If you need to inquire about a drivers license the best place is to go to the nearest motor vehicle office with a valid id proving that you are the owner of that drivers license, other than that contact the police department.
Sure. Just call the police and they can tell you.
How is the Police Officer going to know your license is expired?? Unless you do something to Merit being pulled over the Police Officer will not know. However I would not want to be you when the Officer pulls you over and finds it is expired and you knew about it. Good Luck.
Well, you need a drivers license to be able to drive, and a police might ask you for your drivers license to make sure that you know how to drive and won't cause any trouble to other drivers. Also, sometimes you need it to buy things. Hope this helps!
If it is really your drivers license number that you want, and you are not trying to pull something here (sorry but there are scam artists out there), then contact the police and report that you wallet and drivers license are missing. They can run a license check and get the drivers license number for you..Your auto insurance company will also have that info on file!!
