It is important to inform the medical team (especially the surgeon) that you have been on Suboxone (and at what dose). By doing so, the appropriate amount of anesthesia and pain medication may be administered in order to compensate for this.
I'm about to get hernia surgery and I asked my suboxone Dr. from my Suboxone Treatment facility, she said "24 hours-72hours is needed for suboxone to leave your system and to allow the opiate receptors to be affected by opiates" The standard pain pills that I will be prescribed will be 5-7mg Hydrocodone and I will have to wait a total of 24 hours after my last opioid dose before I begin taking my suboxone again. Hope this helps and make sure to give your opiates to someone you can trust that will not enable you if you're like me and might like the pain pills a little too much! God Bless
The simple answer is no they do not make anything that can counteract suboxone. The only remedy they have to take opiates out of your system is Narcan, and that doesn't seem to work to well with sub because of its extremely high affinity for opiate receptors. When I had to have surgery they made me stop taking my suboxone 72 hours prior to my surgery. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
FINALLY...someone who wants to know the same thing as me... does ANYONE know what might possibly do the trick?
You can (1) eat, (2) watch something gory, (3) gastric bypass surgery.
No it actually will enhance your high
NO DON'T TRY IT you could overdose or kill yourself
kill the person
Taking Suboxone with any other opiate is a really bad idea, because Suboxone blocks the opiate receptors in your brain, making it impossible to get high from other opiates. Taking Suboxone with other opiates won't get you higher -- in fact, it will do the opposite. Just 2mgs of Suboxone probably isn't enough to completely kill your high, but the high will certainly be less intense. Forget about the Suboxone, and just do the opium by itself.
Yes, surgery can kill. Intraoperative causes of death include hemorrhage, sepsis and cardiorespiratory failure. Posoperatively, infection is the most common cause of death following surgery.
