To do a valve lash on a 2003 Honda Accord make sure a lash gauge is on hand. Valves lashes adjust the valve to piston clearance on cars. Be sure to use the appropriate specifications of clearance for the 2003 Accord.
Valve lashes only need to be done when the valve piston clearance inside the engine is off. Factory service manuals will list the appropriate clearance levels for the 2003 Honda Accord.
I want to know the number for the valve lash adjustment.
== == Look on the engine size decal under the hood for the valve lash range. .26mm in take .30mm exhaust
Yes, but you need to find out why they are knocking. May just need a valve lash adjustment.
the manual say's that both valves are .13mm
They are adjusted with shims. As you do not have a shim kit for this purpose and it would be expensive for you to buy one, take your Accord to a Honda dealer or mechanic who has a shim kit and have them adjust to valve lash. This is really not a DIY repair due to how it is done.
0.15mm intake 0.25mm exhaust
.004 in. intake and exhaust
From the Honda spec book: Intake = .002", Exhaust .002"
Hopefully just a valve lash adjustment.
The '89 Prelude Si has a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC). The valve lash for the DOHC is INTAKE: 0.08 TO 0.12 mm EXHAUST: 0.16 TO 0.22mm.
They are adjusted with shims. Unless you have a supply of shims, this job is best left to a professional. this is wrong you can adjust the valve lash with a feel gauge intake is .018 to .022 the exhaust is .023 to .027 all in mm make sure the car is cold when you adjust the setting on the valve lash. the order to adjust the valve is when it is at rest
