I don't have a picture or know where one is but I will try to explain the process to replace a tail light bulb in a 1987 Chevy Celebrity:
1. In the trunk near the quarter panel are 3 nuts. Remove the center nut, it will line up with the center of the tail light fixture.
2. Pull the tail light fixture out until the stud clears the body, then pull outward on the tail light fixture to free it from the back up light fixture.
3. The plastic bulb holders twist into place, twist back to remove them. You can then change the light bulb in the appropriate bulb holder.
To install reverse the process.
You need to be more specific. What year is your Chevy Celebrity and is it on the front or rear of the car?
Check
You have to remove the instrument cluster to service the light bulbs.
be more specific the break sensor?parking break light?
That would tend to indicate that the alternator was not charging the battery for that interval.
I have looked at many Celebrities in the junk yard and have never seen one. Even more rare is the hood light which I found off a Pontiac 6000. Yes. I drive an 85 Celebrity and it has a trunk light and a hood light, both of which are original. The trunk light only comes on when tapped, however.
Under the dashboard on the drivers side, in the fuse block. Just pull it and replace it.
Open trunk and remove panel at rear, remove butterfly bolt and tail light assembly should pop out for accessibility to bulbs
To change a tail light on a 1988 Celebrity: Open the trunk. Look on the back of the side light you want to change. There will be several 10 mm nuts. Remove the nut in the center of the tail light lens. It is usually silver. The lens will then pull out a bit, then there is a tab into the backup light, pull the lens out of that. You can then remove the light socket and replace the bulb.
remove 2 Phillip head screws pull out bulb replace it
To remove the tail light assembly on a 1987 to 1989 Chevy Celebrity: On the inside of the trunk next to the quarter panel look for the nuts that hold the rear header to the body. Remove the middle nut, which will be in the center of the tail light assembly. the assembly will then pull outward. When the stud clears then pull to the outside of the car to release the tab from the back up light assembly. If you remove a nut but the tail light assembly did not budge then you probably removed the wrong nut. I like to replace the original nut with a wing nut. That makes future removal easier.
Remove rubber boot. Pull off plug. Twist light bulb 1/4 turn and bulb should come out.
