The Home Sharing feature in iTunes 9 will work with Macs or Windows and between Macs and Windows. Ensure that iTunes is running on all sharing computers and that you are logged into the same iTunes account on each computer.
The Home Sharing feature can be found in iTunes from version 9 onwards. There should be a Shared section in the left hand pane, clicking the reveal triangle should list Home Sharing. You need an iTunes account before you can use the feature (See links below).
