No you do not , But it's one hell of a job to get off.
You have to pull the tranny pan off and it's under the pan.
What parts??? Body, engine, suspension???
pull one off at a time to change them dont get them mixed up
you have to pull off the distributer the modual is under the roter held with to little screws
There is no fuel pump shut off switch on a Pontiac Firebird. Instead, it has a fuel pump relay under the hood in the power distribution box.

If you take the motor mounts loose and jack the engine up high enough it might be possible to get the pan off and the pump out without taking the motor completely out.
It should be on the driver side, above the pedals but under the steering wheel on your left. Turn the screw and pull off the cover. Hope this helps.
The 2000 Pontiac Firebird is equipped with a traction control switch on the shifting console. The traction control button can be pushed in and out to turn the system on in off.
You must replace the bad switch... It is ILLEGAL to operate a motor vehicle without full working equipment.
I can't tell you precisely, but you'll see it when you pull the inside door panel off to access it.
