Normaly the filter runs automaticaly for upards of 6 hours depending on the situation it is located in if there hapens to be an Automatic claener conected then yes.

No that is unnecessary and wasteful most pools need to run the filter daily for somewhere between 3 and 6 hours depending on load and temperature. they are usually run on an automatic timing device.
