I would not say you have to start over, however the amount of credits that can be transferred toward your bachelors will depend on what your major is at the associates level, the type of degree (AA, AS, AAS), your intended major at the four year institution, and their transfer policies, rules, and regulations. So, you can see there are a number of factors involved. Still, the higher the degree, the more doors and opportunities that will be available to you. So, just move forward and do it. Just make sure you create a vision for yourself. A clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. It should be based on passion. A passion for what you want to do and the benefit it brings others as well as yourself. Once you have that, get some help from a counselor, mentor, or coach who can help you develop a road-map leading to your overall career goals and objectives. After you have that, it's just 100% commitment, deciation, and perserveresnce on your part to bring that vision (dream) into reality.
