They can be done on your own - IF you have the knowledge of how to do it. If you're going in blind, a Euro car is not the place to learn as you go.

remove the sensors and clean it. then put it back. if the warning light is still replace the sensors it is cheap

It depends what the first buyer wanted for their car, the parking sensors were not common and were considered to be very fancy so they may or may not. You can always get them put in as an extra at a Mercedes dealership.
If you are talking about the brake sensors then it is time to replace the front brake pads. You should also check the rears while you are at it. When replacing the front brake pads you will also need to change the sensors also.
